Bhubaneswar: City based school for special children Wood-Apple, founded by Mrs. Rita Baliarsingh and Mrs. Shanta Baliarsingh under Shree Sai Niketan Trust (SSNT), organised KWIZ-bel 2016, an open quiz competition for city based school students, at DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur Bhubaneswar on July 31st.
The quiz contest was organised in association with Odisha Quiz Association. WOOD-APPLE Kwiz-bel 2016 at Bhubaneswar witnessed participation of nearly 250 students from various schools in the city. Punya Pratyasa Sethi and Jyotisman Rath of DAV Public School, Unit-8, Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra and Anant Narayan Acharya of ODM Public school and Preetish Biswal and Soubhagya Ratna Behera of DPS Kalinga schools stood first, second and third respectively. The winners were bestowed with cash prizes, trophies, gifts and certificates while Income-tax-Commissioner Mr Sarat Kumar Dash graced the event as chief guest.
It may be noted that, Shree Sai Niketan Trust (SSNT) is working towards the welfare of children, women and economically weaker sections of the society. SSNT has now ventured out for a school for special children, named as WOOD-APPLE, at Bhubaneswar this year. WOOD-APPLE’s objective is to reach out to the special needs of visually impaired, hearing impaired, mentally challenged autism, cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities children.
SSNT is in the process of developing requisite infrastructure and resources to address issues related to the purpose. Shree Sai Niketan Trust (SSNT), established in the year 2012 has successfully conducted programs for sanitation, women empowerment, AIDS awareness, safety awareness and several competitions, cultural activities & camps for deprived children, from slums & orphanage.
