Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s new reality singing sensation Pragya Patra will be on air tonight at 9 pm in the live round of high profile singing reality show

Pragya Patra’s First Live gala Performance at The Voice India

‘The Voice India’. This will be Pragya’s fist performance in the live gala round of the singing reality show The Voice India. Pragya, part of the 14 member team of famed singer Sunidhi Chauhan in the reality show, had won the tough ‘Battle Round’ lending her voice to the song  ‘Mohe panghat pe nandlal chhed gayo re’ of the movie Mughal – E – Azam, beating Garima Khiste from Baroda.

The battle round was designed as such where the team members of the celebrity judge were divided into pairs or jodis and the two singers in a pair fight it for survival in the show with the strength of their performances in the knock out battle round. At the end of the battle round, the four celebrity coach or famed singers will have seven members each in their teams to fight it out in the live round in the coming weeks.

Earlier, Pragya Patra who hails from Odisha but presently resides in New Delhi, impressed the celebrity singer coaches with her singing in the blind audition round. She was so much impressive while singing a Punjabi song that both Sunidhi Chauhan and Mika Singh wanted her in their respective teams. Pragya chose to be in the team of Sunidhi Chauhan.

Pragya Patra had left her handsomely paid marketing job with Google in order to make a career in singing. The Voice India singing reality show aired on &TV also has another distant connection with Odisha through contestant Sarah Aziz, the daughter of Mohammad Aziz who has sung several Odia songs and bhajans. Sarah also made it to the live round.

The Voice India is the ultimate singing talent hunt looking for nation’s mega star with the ability to perform and entertain with their unique voice. Four supremely famous national singing sensations Himesh Reshammiya, Mika, Shaan and Sunidhi Chauhan coach the raw talents to bring out the best in them. The coaches personally tried to persuade their favourite to join their team during the blind auditions but the sole decision lied with the singers. The selection process began with the preliminary round which is The Blind Auditions.
