Continuing her successful run at the ongoing Asian Grand Prix Athletics Series 2015 being held in Thailand, Ace Indian sprinter Odisha’s Srabani Nanda today added another bronze medal to her kitty making a hat-trick of bronze medals at the high profile event.
Srabani won her third bronze of the three leg event on Monday in the 4 x 100m women relay race with a timing of 45.42secs, at Pathumathani, TU Sports Complex, in Thailand. However, she lost a chance to win her fourth medal in the event by a whisker as she finished at fourth after clocking 11.73secs in 100m race in the third leg of the event.
23 year old Srabani clinched bronze in Women’s 100m category at the second leg of the games. She finished with a timing of 11.72 seconds, 0.06 seconds behind Ge Man Qi of China, who won the silver. This was Srabani’s second consecutive medal at the event, following her bronze medal win in the opening leg as part of the Indian women relay team, comprising Srabani Nanda, MG Padmini, Himashree Roy and Gayanthri Govindaraj. The team won a bronze in the women 4X100 meter relay event by clocking 45.33 seconds.
With this, Srabani won her fourth medal of the month, after she won bronze in the women’s 200m at the Asian Athletics Championships in China earlier this month.
